What is a community? How do you define it and what are the elements that hold it together? One could perhaps describe a community as the simple addition of its elements, but the risk would be to obtain a purely mathematical result, neglecting the interaction between the parts, a soulless outcome not representing its most human aspects.

Starting from the idea that a community is a living organism that is far more complex than its individual components, Atlas Pergine aims at presenting a photographic exploration which reframes and recomposes a human mapping of the city. Through meetings and exchanges with its inhabitants and its various cultural associations, we collected a vast repertoire of portraits and stories which creates a composite image of its community, a human atlas of Pergine.
