    Pergine Arte Giovane. PAG 2019

P.A.G.: The next Perfoming Arts Generation

Pergine supports young creatives in the local region with a project that offers two opportunities. Pergine Arte Giovane, promoted by the Department of Culture of the City of Pergine with the collaboration and coordination of Pergine Spettacolo Aperto, is a call for performances and visual works that will be proposed during the autumn edition of Pergine Festival. The Festival also combines the call for proposals with the Performing Arts Generation Lab, an in-depth workshop dedicated to those who work in the performing arts. To participate you must be under 35 years of age and resident in the region.

From Pergine come positive messages and concrete actions to support all those who want to make art in our territory. Pergine Festival in fact coordinates Pergine Arte Giovane, a project with which since 2016 the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Pergine has been supporting artists living and working in Trentino – Alto Adige. This year the Festival management felt the need to relaunch and add to the proposal of the Councillorship a four-day training course for performing artists, which can be preparatory – though without obligation – also to the application to the call for proposals.

PERGINE ARTE GIOVANE CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The call is addressed to under-35 residents in the region with the aim of supporting emerging creativity and encouraging young people to participate in the cultural life of our local territory.

The selected artists will be able to publicly present their projects during the autumn edition of Pergine Festival, scheduled from 26 October to 1 November 2020 in the historic centre of the city. The event will promote the work of young artists, spreading contemporary creative trends and creating opportunities for visibility and comparison.

Artists, groups and collectives residing in Trentino – Alto Adige and who have not turned 35 years of age on 31 December 2020 may participate (for groups and collectives the criterion of 80% of the members for both requirements applies). Proposals may concern visual arts (photography, painting, graphics, sculpture, installation, video art, etc.) and performing arts (theatre, dance, performing actions, urban interventions, participatory projects, etc.).

The selected projects will receive a fee of 250 euros (for visual arts) or 450 euros (for performing arts). The deadline for participation in the call is set at midnight on 21 September 2020.

The initiative was created by the Culture Department of the Municipality of Pergine and for two years has been entrusted to the coordination of Pergine Festival.

    PERFORMING ARTS GENERATION LAB

PERFORMING ARTS GENERATION LAB is a training and mentorship workshop dedicated to artists and performing artists under 35. In the performing arts, it is extremely important to think about one’s work and role also in entrepreneurial terms. For many young people, however, it is complex to understand the functioning of a system, as well as the positioning of one’s work within a professional horizon. Performing Arts Generation Lab has brought together a number of professionals and practitioners from the sector to help participants develop their projects not only on an artistic level, but also in terms of communication and entrepreneurship. The workshop will take place in Pergine Valsugana over four days.
