WINNER OF THE 2022 “FOREVER YOUNG” CALL BY CORTE OSPITALE 

Ugo compresses the time and remembers – or perhaps imagines.  He remembers his childhood places, the afternoons spent playing with his brother and cousin. But memory is an imperfect machine and memories immediately take the form of a fairy tale. And just like in a fairy tale, Ugo falls back in his eleven years, the day he met Xavier. They met on a chat. They met only once, in a public park toilet. Xavier is thirty years older than Ugo.

He impressed us for the courage to bring a suffered violence on stage. For the ability to transform it. To evoke it. To uncover the cards little by little. To shape the memories, one after the other, until you reach the threshold of the unspeakable.
