In 2015 Pergine festival, one of Trentino’s oldest festivals, will blow out 40 candles and we want to celebrate its regeneration and, at the same time, investigate a crucial topic of everyday life. Nowadays showing the signs of ageing has become not only a venial but even a mortal sin.

We obsessively celebrate the myth of eternal youth and refuse to think about the beginning and the end of the lifecycle. Birth and death are taboos, these thresholds are mentioned only in medical contests, hidden and relegated in the reign of subconscious.

Pergine festival accepts submissions from artists who want to investigate this theme.

Birth, death, passage rituals, time passing by, immortality, the censured, adulterated or changed image of the body, sickness, healing and wellbeing, the relation between body, nature and time: all these can be elaborations of the main theme.

We accept submissions for different categories of art forms: theatre, dance, design, performance, sound art, architecture, visual art, video, photography, participatory art, fashion…

If you an emerging artist based in Italy please check also our OPEN 2015 Platform. It aims to promote emerging artists who experiment with new artistic languages and unconventional venues of Pergine. The projects preferred are engaging and site-specific. The selected projects will be part of 2015 festival programme. The proposals for OPEN 2015 must be submitted in Italian.
